Family-friendly fall fun comes to the Garden District this weekend
Alderman Scott Spiker is inviting area residents to participate in the full slate of family-friendly events coming to the Garden District this weekend.
The Garden District Neighborhood Association will host two events beginning with Movie in the Garden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 12. This year’s screening will be The Wild Robot. The movie is rated PG and suitable for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks, chairs, and blankets to enjoy a movie under the stars. Free popcorn will be provided courtesy of Marcus Theatres.On Saturday, September 13 the annual Garden District fall rummage sale will kick-off starting at 9 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. Dozens of vendors will have a wide variety of goods on sale during the event. Both events will take place at 6th and Norwich, one block south of Howard Ave.
“The 13th District is home to a wide array of offerings for people of all ages and interests, including events like the family movie night and rummage sale happening this weekend,” said Alderman Spiker. “I hope residents take advantage of these opportunities to connect with neighbors, enjoy the outdoors, and experience all our district has to offer.”
