David Crowley Leads Dem Primary Field in Fundraising
Crowley Outraised Closest Competitor by over $180K
MILWAUKEE – The first campaign finance report of 2026 confirms what’s becoming increasingly clear in Wisconsin’s race for governor: David Crowley is the candidate best positioned to win both the primary and general elections.
Crowley raised $800,949, more than any other Democrat in the race, finishing the period with $602,000 cash on hand. Crowley outraised his closest competitor by over $180,000, while every other candidate in the field trailed far behind.Crowley’s commanding fundraising lead reflects broad, statewide support and positions his campaign with the resources necessary to win both the Democratic primary and the general election.
“People across Wisconsin are feeling the financial squeeze, and they want a governor who knows how to get things done,” said Crowley. “The support we’re seeing — from every corner of the state — shows this campaign is connecting. It gives us the resources to build a serious, statewide operation focused on delivering results for working families.”
Crowley is the only Democrat in the race with proven executive experience, having balanced billion-dollar budgets, managed essential public services, and built bipartisan coalitions to deliver Act 12, the most significant shared-revenue reform in decades.
Crowley’s early momentum, significant fundraising lead, ability to bring people together, and track record of governing set him apart from the rest of the Democratic primary field as the strongest candidate to win in November.
Crowley’s pragmatic approach and proven track record resonate in urban, suburban, and rural communities across Wisconsin. And as a County Executive who was re-elected in Milwaukee County with 84% of the vote, he is uniquely positioned to increase turnout in the city of Milwaukee while also driving up Democratic margins in crucial suburbs. Crowley’s statewide appeal is the exact formula that will elect a Democratic governor in November.
The Democratic primary for governor will be held on August 11, 2026. Don’t care how much money he raises. He still can not win based on the mindset of the central and northern parts of the state. The Madison and Milwaukee areas are not the only voters in this game.
