(March 6, 2017 — Milwaukee) — Popular downtown dining destination Cubanitas officially announced today it will open its second location at Oak Creek’s new Drexel Town Square development in early summer. Wisconsin’s first Cuban restaurant, which opened its downtown location in 2003, will join Pizza Man and BelAir Cantina, among others, in the bustling new mixed-use development.

“We are thrilled to be opening our second location in the city of Oak Creek and specifically in this terrific new development,” says Marc Bianchini, who owns Cubanitas, as well as Indulge, with his wife, Marta. “The city has been incredibly welcoming and we’re excited to offer all of our amazing customers — and potential new visitors — another option for dining at Cubanitas.”

The Bianchinis are growing their brand, and have partnered with local investor Daniel Schwartz. The Oak Creek location will offer similar décor and menu to its downtown location, including its celebrated Cuban sandwich, plantain chips with Cuban Guacamole and mojitos. The 70-seat restaurant will feature outdoor dining and hours similar to the other on-site dining destinations (including Sundays).

It’s an active spring for the Bianchinis, who will once again host the lively Cuban Day Street Festival on Sunday, May 21, on Milwaukee Street.

“It’s the right time — and the right place — for us to expand,” says Bianchini. “We could not be more excited.”
