Creation of citywide mental health needs assessment survey adopted at Council
The Common Council today (Tuesday, March 2nd) voted to adopt Common Council file #201411 – a substitute resolution directing the Department of Administration and the Commissioner of Health, in collaboration with the Board of Health, to work with the National Research Center at Polco to draft benchmarks as well as a scope of work, outreach plan and implementation schedule for a citywide mental health needs assessment survey. The File was sponsored by Alderwoman Chantia Lewis, and comes at a time when data indicates individuals are dealing with an increase in anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
The initiative will be spearheaded by the Board of Health in partnership with Wisconsin based Polco – a leading civic engagement technology firm – and the National Research Center.
The Department of Administration and the Commissioner of Health will report to the Common Council by May 31, 2021, the progress made in designing a citywide mental health needs assessment survey.
