County Executive Crowley Orders Flags at Half-Staff in Honor and Remembrance of the Life of Milwaukee County Employee
John Manka, a Milwaukee County snowplow operator, died in a crash while on duty on January 20, 2023.
MILWAUKEE, WI – Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley has ordered all flags at the County Courthouse to fly at half-staff for February 3rd through 5th in honor and remembrance of the life of John Manka, a Milwaukee County snowplow operator who died in a crash while on duty on January 20, 2023.
Survived by his loving wife of 30 years Heidi, lovingly remembered by his 4 children Shannon Wendorf, Dawn Wozniarski, Eric Wozniarski, Krista Johnson. Sisters Jean Stephan, Carol Kuehn, Chris Czysz. Grandchildren Dominick, Christian, Neveah, Brooklyn, Eli, Chance, Reagen, Jase, Stella, Ayla, and great-grandchild, Kingsly. He is loved and respected by many.
Special thanks to his Milwaukee County Highway Family and the Nurses & Doctors at Froedtert Hospital. He was an avid Harley rider belonging to the Rock River Hog Chapter. He enjoyed going to Packers games with family and friends. He also loved supporting all his children and grandchildren at their sporting events.
A “Celebration of Life” has been planned for February 4th, 2023, 2pm-7pm at the Oak Creek American Legion Lower Hall, 9327 S. Shepard Ave., Oak Creek, WI 53154.
