Community Praises City for Exceptional Snow Removal after Recent Storms
Following significant snowfalls that blanketed the city from Wednesday, February 12 to Saturday, February 15, residents are expressing widespread appreciation for the Department of Public Works (DPW) and their outstanding snow removal results.
For many residents, the recent snowfalls were met with a sense of apprehension, remembering past incidents where removal proved challenging, often requiring individual calls for assistance. However, this time, the DPW exceeded expectations, leaving residents pleasantly surprised and deeply grateful.
“I usually have to call every year due to the issues with the city plowing,” one resident stated, according to Alderman Burgelis. The resident continued: “But I thought it very important to let you know that we were extremely amazed at the snow clearing done on our streets with this last snow fall. I don’t think I have seen such an outstanding job done in so long!!”
This sentiment was echoed by many others. Where previous snowfalls often resulted in icy conditions and difficult commutes, this time, the roads were reported to be in “amazing shape.” The DPW’s diligence in clearing streets promptly and thoroughly has significantly improved accessibility and safety for all residents.
Alderman Burgelis said the positive feedback extends beyond individual experiences. Residents are noting the collective impact of the DPW’s efforts, fostering a sense of community appreciation. “I just wanted to tell you my neighbors and I were very impressed with the snow removal this time. Thank you,” another resident commented. Another wrote, “I just wanted to tell you that the DPW did a fabulous job on the recent snow removal! Best I’ve seen in a long time! Please pass this on to DPW.”
“Praise for the DPW’s recent snow removal efforts highlights the importance of effective public services and the positive impact they have on the community. It serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of City employees who ensure the safety and well-being of the city’s residents during winter storms, and all year long. THANK YOU DPW!” Alderman Burgelis added.
