Celebrate Labor Day Weekend at the Big Gig BBQ

$5K Giveaway, First Amateur Rib Cooking Competition & Music Lineup Revealed

MILWAUKEE, WI (August 16, 2018) –  The 3rd Annual Big Gig BBQ, produced by Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. will take place on Sunday, September 2, 2018, from Noon-7:00 p.m. at Henry Maier Festival Park. Admission and parking are FREE.  Big Eats from 15 local vendors, Big Music (lineup below), and Big Fun, including water games hosted by the Milwaukee Fire Department and family picnic games, will be featured at this year’s event. Plus, all Big Gig BBQ attendees (who have entered by 4:00 p.m.) have the opportunity to win $5,000 Cash in the 5K Giveaway! (Winner must be present to win). The drawing will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard stage. Complete rules and details can be found at www.biggigbbq.com

For the first time, the Big Gig BBQ is hosting an Amateur BBQ Rib Competition, open to local backyard BBQ enthusiasts who want to showcase their best rib recipe. Cash prizes will be awarded.  Teams interested in participating are encouraged to apply by Friday, August 24, 2018. Official rules and online application can be found at www.biggigbbq.com.

Two stages at the Big Gig BBQ will feature live music– the lineup includes:

    • 12:00 p.m. –      Cadillac Pete and The Heat
    • 2:30 p.m. –       WILDSIDE
    • 5:00 p.m. –       Crossfire
  • Harley-Davidson™ Roadhouse with Miller High Life:
    • 12:00 p.m. –      Spitfire Rodeo
    • 2:00 p.m. –       The Blues Disciples
    • 4:30 p.m. –       Christopher’s Project

In addition, other events at Henry Maier Festival Park Labor Day weekend include the four-day Katancha Rock, Rally & Roll, August 30-September 2nd, on the North End of the grounds, featuring the ultimate destination for motorcycle aftermarket parts, vendors, entertainment, and more.
