MILWAUKEE (December 7, 2021) – Downtown Milwaukee welcomes the return of Cocoa with the Clauses presented by Madison Medical Affiliates to Cathedral Square Park on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids will have the chance to pose for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, plus share their holiday wish lists. Elves and other holiday characters will also be present for photo opportunities while Sarah Fierek and the Midwest Vocal Express choir create a festive ambience. Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided compliments of Taste of Home. Masks are highly encouraged for this event, regardless of vaccination status.

Coordinated by Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 as part of their annual Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival, this family-friendly event unfolds at one of the three parks that have been decked out with over 500,000 lights around downtown Milwaukee. Cathedral Square Park provides a stunning backdrop for family photos with over 100 trees that have been decorated by schools and organizations around the city.

Cathedral Square Park also hosts a direct connection to the North Pole – Santa’s Mailbox. The mailbox, presented by Educators Credit Union, Serving Older Adults and National Association of Letter Carriers Pioneer Branch 2, will be stationed until Dec. 12. Children who drop off a letter with a return address will receive a personalized letter from Santa, no postage required.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus back to Cathedral Square Park,” said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21. “This is a moment that kids will remember for years to come, which is why we were excited to rekindle the magic of the season.”

The Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival presented by Johnson Financial Group is coordinated by Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 and includes themed installations in three parks— “Community Spirit Park” at Cathedral Square Park, “HiBEARnation Station” at Pere Marquette Park and “Home is Where the Hearth Is Powered by We Energies” at Zeidler Union Square— as well as street decorations along an 18-block stretch of Wisconsin Avenue. A podcast version of the Jingle Bus tour connects festgoers to all the sights and lights around downtown. Tune in via the iHeartRadio app or any platform used to listen to podcasts.
