Career Politician Gov. Scott Walker Governs For Re-Election With Campaign Gimmick

"I know Gov. Walker's desperate to be re-elected so he can continue to pursue his presidential ambitions, but he is messing with people’s lives and that’s got to stop."

MILWAUKEE – On the heels of former Corrections Secretary Ed Wall exposing Gov. Scott Walker‘s failure to address the dangerous conditions at the Lincoln Hills juvenile corrections facility, Gov. Walker today announced a plan to close the facility — in 2019 — that’s right, next year. Talk about kicking the can down the road! The following is the statement of gubernatorial candidate Andy Gronik with regards to today’s news:

“Gov. Scott Walker was warned about ‘inhumane’ conditions at Lincoln Hills six years ago. But now, almost as some kind of political stagecraft, he’s talking about taking action next year — after the election — with a non-specific plan for which he has not pledged his support. So, Walker’s actual idea is to park juvenal offenders and correctional officers in dangerous conditions for yet another year while he looks for clever ways to open more prisons around the state instead of addressing the failed criminal justice system that’s landing more and more people in Wisconsin prisons each year. This isn’t a plan — it’s political gamesmanship and cowardice.

“Walker has allowed the mounting problems at Lincoln Hills to fester despite documented harm to both guards and juveniles at the facility. The Walker’s administration reportedly is still not in compliance with a court order to enact much-needed safety reforms at the facility. The governor won’t step foot in Lincoln Hills to learn more about the problems from correctional officers, juvenal detainees, social workers, doctors and others confronted with the issues every day. That’s where you find the real solutions.

“I know Gov. Walker’s desperate to be re-elected so he can continue to pursue his presidential ambitions, but he is messing with people’s lives and that’s got to stop. When I’m governor, we’ll reform the entire criminal justice system so we stop locking up people up for non-violent crimes; we’ll find ways to return juvenal offenders into productive lives within their communities, and we’ll put an end to our prison industry being the only industry growing in the state of Wisconsin.”

Career politician and Big Government moocher Scott Walker’s Wississippi is not thriving. Poverty rates in Wississippi are at 30 year highs. People are working, sure, for wage slave salaries with no benefits! Wissisippi has one of the fastet shrinking middle classes in the country now. Good, hard working educated people, particularly young educated people are indeed, fleeing the state. Why? Because of Walker and his policies. Remember, if it were up to him, abortion would be illegal, gay marriage would be illegal and doobie smoking would continue to be a mortal threat to society itself They aren’t buying it. So now he wants to try to bribe them back by spending 7 more million of taxpayers’ dollars. Not gonna happen. Wississippi is dead last in new business start ups and entrepreneurship. Wages and the economy, outside of “socialist” Dane County, which is actually thriving, lag our “socialist” neighbor to the west Minnesota, which is running circles around Wississippi economically and socially, attracting many of our best and brightest. And you know what? They did it all in a healthy bipartisan way, not by dividing the state and pursuing a bitter, partisan “divide and conquer” strategy that Walker employed ripping the social fabric of the state apart. Schools have been defunded. The best teachers are fleeing the state. The roads and infrastructure in Wississippi are crumbling and the state still has an unresolved one billion dollar and counting, DOT budget deficit. The republicans have unconstitutionally gerrymandered the state elections, destroying Democracy itself in the process. Voting rights and rates have in fact been seriously negatively impacted by the voter ID law. Walker and republicans’ policies loot and pillage our environment. The prisons in Wississippi are overflowing and the state cannot afford its prison industrial complex any longer. Anyone, usually currently sitting in a cage for nonviolent drug “offenses” should be immediately released. The state desperately needs criminal justice and drug war reform, including ending cannabis prohibition which would add revenue and honor basic civil rights. If the state is “thriving” why did Walker just hand over 4 BILLION of taxpayers’ money in corporate welfare to a Chinese company for soon to be obsolete, (via automation or innovation) mediocre jobs? Wississippi has been Foxconned by Walker!! This John Doe investigation into Walker and his aids (including those in prison for their past illegal activiyies) and the subsequent investigations are disconcerting all around, one might even say “greazy” to say the least. How much out of state big corporate money has Big Government moocher Walker taken? Is it true that the same money going to him and republicans is going to fund judicial seats? No wonder the “courts” throw out any ruling against him now! This is the same Scott Walker who just spoke at a far right wing conference featuring white nationalists and yes, it appears even a Nazi!
Career politician Scott Walker did not create 250,000 jobs. He failed and rather than take personal responsibility he sold the state down the river and handed 4 Billion dollars in corporate welfare to a Chinese company. Scott Walker is a jobs killer, a prosperity killer, a Democracy killer, a civil rights killer and a killer of Liberty and freedom itself.

    Dump Walker 2018!
    Dump all republicans 2018

  2. WashCoRepub says:

Say Andy, why are the majority of your campaign contributions actually ‘contributed’ by you, when you had previously stated you would never rely on that extent of self-funding to sustain your campaign? Is support for your campaign that weak?

  3. Old Man Yells at Cloud says:

Walker is putting peoples lives at risk for political gain. An actual leader would solve the problem quickly and BENEFIT from it.

  4. Terry says:

@WashCoRepug, I am sure you asked Trump that same question huh, hypocrite?! Didn’t think so. You make this too easy.
As if it’s sooo much better that career politician Scott Walker has already received 5 million dollars from out of state mega rich donors! What a bought and paid for corporate shill and sell out! Yeah, ever since republicans changed the campaign finance laws to allow unlimited donations and then unconstitutionally gerrymandered the state things have gotten so much better…for republicans of course but nobody else. You crooks, cheats and partisan hacks have all got to go asap!! Big Blue Wave coming in November. Might even be big enough to overcome Walker’s big corporate money and republican’s disgusting gerrymandering in Wisconsin. Either way, your scams are up republicans and your days of “party over country” are coming to an end!! Choo chooo! All aboard the freedom train! Get outta the way republicans!

    DUMP WALKER 2018!!!
