Bublr Bikes, Milwaukee’s non-profit bikeshare operator, is excited to welcome Eleni Jacobson as its new Outreach and Engagement Manager!

Jacobson’s recent role was with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, where she acted as their Community Programs Manager for four years. In her role, she ran events and classes as part of a nonprofit team organizing the grassroots movement for safer streets. Through education and coalition-building, she helped connect residents of Silicon Valley to their local governments, the urban planning process, and to their community. Jacobson credits her time at SVBC for teaching her the fundamentals of engagement and outreach that she plans to apply to Bublr’s mission.

While Jacobson grew up in California, she has spent many weeks of summer and winter breaks in Milwaukee visiting her grandparents and is eager to embrace Milwaukee’s cultural amenities and experiences.

At Bublr Bikes, Jacobson will manage Bublr’s community-based programming such as their Savvy Cycling courses, which are free classes offered to remove informational barriers and make it easier for everyone to ride safely in the city while accessing the Bublr System. Jacobson will also promote Bublr’s Access Pass program, which is a program that offers free memberships to users receiving government aid. In 2025, The Access Pass program had 300 memberships that sourced 9,157 bike trips!

Bublr board member and Multimodal Transportation Manager, Mike Amsden, says, “We’re excited to see Team Bublr grow, and having Eleni on board will help build awareness of the Bublr system and grow ridership. More people biking means safer streets, cleaner air, and happier Milwaukeeans!”

Jacobson’s role at Bublr comes at an important time for the organization as it continues its Bublr 2.0 expansion, which is gearing up to add more adaptive bikes, 800 docks, and 500 e-bikes to their system this spring and summer season.

Being a passionate urban cyclist, Jacobson shares, “Biking for the environment appealed to me as a young person, but, these days, I see urban biking as a slam dunk solution to immediate, salient, and pervasive problems that we all rise to face each day: burnout, stress, tight budgets, sedentary lifestyles and social isolation.” Jacobson adds, “The promise, energy, and hope of urban biking is magnetic—it feels like the bike industry chose me!”

Bublr’s Executive Director, Ted Chisholm, shares, “I’m excited to welcome Eleni to the Bublr team. Bublr will benefit greatly from her passion for community-building, enthusiasm for cycling, and experience at the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition.”

Jacobson shares, “I am thrilled to join the Bublr team providing Milwaukee’s sustainable, excellent bikeshare system for all. I hope to promote Bublr 2.0’s expanded service areas and help as many neighbors as possible discover transportation and lifestyle opportunities that will improve their everyday quality of life.”
