Brewers Unveil New Details and Renderings for the UW Credit Union Plaza at American Family Field
New Plaza Blends Wisconsin Tradition, Live Music and Family Fun Outside the Ballpark
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today released new details and conceptual renderings for the UW Credit Union Plaza, a new outdoor social gathering and entertainment destination located just outside American Family Field in the outfield plaza area.
Set to open to the public in June 2026, the UW Credit Union Plaza will be a free, open-access space on gamedays, designed to extend the ballpark experience beyond the gates while celebrating the Brewers, Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin.
“The UW Credit Union Plaza allows us to amplify one of the best fan experiences in all of baseball,” said Brewers President – Business Operations Rick Schlesinger. “This project builds on the entertainment culture that already exists outside our ballpark – from tailgating to gathering with friends and family. This reflects our commitment to creating spaces that feel uniquely Milwaukee and unmistakably Wisconsin.”
At the heart of the plaza will be an authentic Wisconsin beer garden, complemented by a performance stage that will host pregame activations, Theme Night celebrations and live music throughout the season. Beverage service will be available on the plaza, and for select games, food trucks and other vendors will offer light food options.
The plaza is designed as a family-friendly destination and will feature two distinct play spaces, offering programming for a wide range of ages. Younger children will enjoy a custom-themed playground, presented by Joie, while older kids and families can explore a mini-golf course.
“In Wisconsin, game day is more than the innings we watch from the stands; it’s often a full-day event,” said UW Credit Union President and CEO Paul Kundert. “This gathering space is designed to create a more connected, immersive ballpark experience that honors the Club’s Wisconsin roots. It may have our name on it, but it belongs to the fans.”
Design elements throughout the plaza intentionally pay homage to Wisconsin, Milwaukee and Brewers baseball. The mini-golf course, for example, incorporates state-inspired theming, including a Wisconsin-shaped green for Hole 1, complete with a water feature representing Lake Michigan. Additional course elements draw inspiration from iconic Wisconsin landmarks and symbols, including the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail, the bluffs of the Driftless Region and the Hoan Bridge. The Joie Play Yard, a cow-themed play space, similarly serves as a playful nod to Wisconsin’s agricultural heritage.
The Milwaukee-based firm, TKWA has led the design of the plaza. TKWA is the same firm that developed concepts for prominent local destinations, including 3rd Street Market Hall and Zócalo Food Truck Park, bringing a strong sense of local authenticity to the project.
The UW Credit Union Plaza will be located adjacent to the pedestrian bridge spanning Wisconsin Highway 175/Brewers Boulevard and connecting to the parking lots. The space will be open to the public on gamedays beginning in June 2026, further enhancing the overall fan experience at American Family Field. UW Credit Union has been the presenting sponsor of Milwaukee Brewers Baseball since 2021.
