Brewers Sign Catcher Gary Sánchez
Free Agent Agrees to One-Year Contract with Club Option for 2027
PHOENIX – The Milwaukee Brewers have signed catcher Gary Sánchez to a one-year contract with a club option for 2027. The announcement was made by President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Matt Arnold.

Sánchez, 33, returns for his second stint with the Brewers after playing for the team in 2024. The two-time All-Star (2017 and 2019) has also played for New York-AL (2015-21), Minnesota (2022), New York-NL (2023), San Diego (2023) and Baltimore (2025). He is a career .224/.309/.461 hitter with 189 HR and 509 RBI in 860 games, including .220/.307/.392 with 11 HR and 37 RBI in 89 games during his first season with Milwaukee.
Entering the 2026 season, the native of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic ranks among the top five in the Major Leagues from the catching position in HR (3rd, 155), RBI (3rd, 410) and extra-base hits (5th, 252) since 2016.
