Brew City Match Announces Second Round of Competition
Entrepreneurs and Commercial Property Owners are Invited to Apply
The Brew City Match collaborative announced today that the program is now accepting applications from small business owners and commercial property owners within targeted Milwaukee commercial corridors. After a successful first round of competition in the Historic King Drive, North Avenue/Fond du Lac, and Cesar Chavez Drive commercial corridors, the program is now expanding to the Near West Side.
“Brew City Match is a great way to encourage the energy and entrepreneurial spirit of small business people in Milwaukee, and redevelop vacant commercial storefronts in our Historic commercial corridors,” Mayor Tom Barrett said. “These businesses add economic activity and jobs in our neighborhoods, and we are optimistic about their future growth.”
On behalf of the collaborative, Wendy Baumann, WWBIC Executive Director commented, “We continue to be encouraged with our Brew City Match collaboration, and are excited to find the next entrepreneurs with great promise to start or expand their businesses with support from our collaborative team. Some businesses really need a plan to start – others need to advance their plan into a fulltime business and many are really in expansion mode – and all in our neighborhood corridors where business enterprises and jobs are needed and wanted”.
Applications can be found online at www.brewcitymatch.com and are due on March 10, 2020.
A press event will be held on February 13th at 10:30am at Triciclo Peru, located at 3801 W Vliet St. Mayor Barrett will provide remarks. Members of the collaborative and winners from the first round of competition will be available for interviews.
