Brady Street Groups to Host 3rd District Candidate Forum
Opportunity for voters to meet the slate of candidates ahead of the February 18th Milwaukee Common Council Primary Election
(MILWAUKEE, Wis.) — The Brady Street Area Association (BSAA) in partnership with the Brady Street Business Improvement District #11 (BID) this week announced a live public forum featuring candidates on the upcoming Milwaukee Common Council District 3 primary election ballot. The forum will take place on Monday, February 3, at 6:00 p.m. at Vivarium, 1818 N. Farwell Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
“The winner of the April 1 general election will represent some of the city’s densest neighborhoods, and Brady Street serves as one of the main commercial and cultural corridors of the district,” said Douglas Savage, BSAA Vice President. “We want to give each of the candidates an opportunity to speak directly to our neighborhood, and give neighbors an equal opportunity to ask the questions that matter most to them.”
The evening will consist of opening statements from each participating candidate, before a question-and-answer session moderated by Savage. A moment of silence will also be held for the late Alderman Brostoff. Seating will be available on a first-come basis, and members of the public can RSVP to the event on the BSAA’s Facebook page.
“A solid relationship with our district’s alderman is vital to the way we run our businesses,” said Michelle Eigenberger, BID Chairman. “With a deep slate of candidates and a limited time before the primary election, we’ll take every opportunity we can to get to know the people who seek to represent us.”
To accompany the live Q&A, participating candidates will answer a questionnaire regarding their background, platform goals, and stances on issues that affect the neighborhood. The candidates’ responses will be published in full on the BSAA website ahead of the forum and physical copies will be made available at the event.
A full list of confirmed participants will be announced in the coming days.
