Berman Campaign Violates Fec Rules With Late Campaign Finance Filing

MADISON, Wis. — Today, the Republican Party of Wisconsin has filed an FEC complaint against Mitchell Berman for violating Federal Election Commission rules by filing a required campaign finance report late. Federal campaign finance law requires timely disclosure of contributions and expenditures.

“Mitchell Berman talks a big game about accountability and transparency, but he can’t even follow the basic rules that every candidate is required to obey,” said WisGOP Spokesperson Anika Rickard. “Filing campaign finance reports on time isn’t optional. It’s the law. When a candidate fails to meet that standard, Wisconsin voters have every right to question whether he is ready for the responsibility of representing them in Congress.”

The Republican Party of Wisconsin calls on Berman to fully explain the delay, correct any outstanding issues with the FEC, and commit to timely compliance going forward.
