Be on the lookout for city workers cleaning our streets
Statement of Alderman Cavalier Johnson March 11, 2020
As the warm weather rolls in and large snow banks thaw, we often find litter and other debris filling our roadways and shared spaces. To help keep our streets clean, the Department of Public Works is deploying forestry crews to assist the cleanup of major boulevards. Streets will not be closed but as a result there may be rolling lane closures and some congestion.
Remember when driving to always obey traffic laws, and when you see crews working in the streets slow down and proceed with caution. I also encourage residents to lend a hand and clean up any litter or debris that may be present on sidewalks, bus stops, or other public spaces in your neighborhood. Keeping our city safe and clean is a shared responsibility.
