Back 2 School Giveaway Comes to Garden Homes Park on Saturday
On Saturday, September 13 from noon – 4 p.m. the 30th Street Industrial Corridor Corp will host its Back 2 School Giveaway event at Garden Homes Park, 2600 W. Atkinson Ave. The event will take place rain or shine while supplies last, and is free and open to the public. Items to be given away include various school supplies, personal hygiene products, coats, and a select supply of laptops.
With the school year having started recently, Alderwoman Andrea Pratt is encouraging neighbors to take full advantage of this event that aims to ensure students are set up for success with all the supplies they need. “Having the proper school supplies plays a large role in student success, and this is a fantastic opportunity for families who may still need school supplies for their children, while also offering the community a chance to come together and connect,” said Alderwoman Pratt
The event is held in partnership with Milwaukee Police Department District 5, the Milwaukee County Sheriff‘s Office, the City’s Office of Community Wellness and Safety, and other sponsors.
