Augustine Prep Announces Full Leadership Team

School Opens June 26; First Day of Classes is August 16

MILWAUKEE – June 13, 2017 – St. Augustine Preparatory Academy (“Augustine Prep”), a non-denominational Christian school on Milwaukee’s south side, today announced it has finalized its leadership team. Led by Superintendent Alfonso Carmona, the full leadership team includes:

“Our leadership team will be vital in the process of making Augustine Prep one of the highest performing [urban] schools in the nation,” said Carmona. “Through our rigorous application and interview process, we ensured that this team, and all our staff, are driven by a deeply held belief in the transformative power of education on lives and communities.”

In addition to rounding out the school’s leadership team, Augustine Prep has aggressively been pursuing the best teachers from around the world to join its staff. The teacher hiring process, which attracted over 1,200 applications from 42 states and 12 countries for 50 open positions, is nearing finalization, although a few teaching positions remain open. Augustine Prep is committed to rewarding its teachers’ positive performances and contributions with competitive pay, a supportive environment and the autonomy to drive their own classroom and career.

Located on the south side of Milwaukee, Augustine Prep offers one of the most engaging learning environments in the State. The school includes bright, flexible learning spaces; advanced classroom technologies; state-of-the-art STEM labs; high-performance athletic and performing arts facilities; and more. As a non-denominational Christian school, Augustine Prep is welcoming of all God’s children, and is collaborating with families, community partners and other schools to create a new model for education that will serve generations to come.

Summer camp programs at Augustine Prep begin June 26 with the first day of instruction starting August 16. For the 2017-2018 school year, the school is enrolling 670 students in grades K-4, K-5, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 9th. By the 2020-2021 school year, the school will enroll 1,800 children of all grade levels.
