Artists in the Garden
HALES CORNERS, WISCONSIN – Art lovers can spend a unique weekend with area artists as Milwaukee County Parks and the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Whitnall Park, in association with the League of Milwaukee Artists, host “Artists in the Garden,” a weekend of art and nature on Saturday August 20, and Sunday August 21, from 10am to 5pm. Artists from across the area will be exhibiting and selling their work, as well as competing in a plein air art competition.
Visitors can browse the art fair in the Shrub Mall where 30 artists and organizations will set up shop and demonstrate their talents. Or, the public can watch as over 20 artists paint the garden. The completed paintings will be available for purchase. The first prize of $1000 is being donated by Karen Ellenbecker of the Ellenbecker Investment Group.
A children’s program, organized by the Friends of the Boerner Botanical Gardens, will focus on local plants and gardening. All of this will be combined with music, food and drink. Entrance to the Gardens is $5.50 for adults, and parking is free.
