Artist Market to be held in Garden District this weekend

“I am excited to welcome this showing of our community’s creativity to the Garden District”

Alderman Terry L. Witkowski invites community members to the Garden District Neighborhood Association Artist Market on Sunday, August 28. The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at the Garden District Farmers’ Market lot at S. 6th Street and W. Howard Avenue.

“I am excited to welcome this showing of our community’s creativity to the Garden District,” Alderman Witkowski said. “It’s going to be a great opportunity to celebrate the artistic abilities of our neighbors and of our great city.”

There will be a performance by Tamarind Tribal Belly Dance from 1 to 2 p.m. and music by Mississippi Sawyer from 2 until 3 p.m. Twenty-seven artists and vendors selling everything from steampunk jewelry to blacksmithed garden decorations will participate in this event, which is hosted by the Garden District Neighborhood Association Art Committee.
