American Federation of Teachers Local 212 COPE Endorses Chris Larson
Milwaukee, WI – State Senator Chris Larson earned the endorsement of AFT Local 212 COPE today, the first major endorsement in the race for Milwaukee County Executive. American Federation of Teachers Local 212 COPE represents the 1,500 faculty, counselors, and professional staff at all four campuses of the Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Liz Conley, President of Local 212 and MATC Instructor, stated “There are several experienced candidates running for Milwaukee County Executive, but Chris Larson’s track record as a leader stands out even in a very strong field. First as a Milwaukee County Supervisor then as a Wisconsin State Senator, Larson has fought tirelessly against the destructive policies of Scott Walker and is an unwavering ally of working people and their families.”
Chris Larson said “I’m honored to have the support of such dedicated and tireless workers in our county. MATC is crucial to the fabric of our public education system and our communities future. I will continue to fight until Milwaukee joins almost every other major metropolitan area in the country and gets dedicated funding for our county transit system, I will continue to fight for investments in our neighborhood schools, and I will continue to fight to keep our parks public.”
Chris Larson is the State Senator for Wisconsin’s 7th District and former Milwaukee County Supervisor. Chris grew up in Greenfield and is a life-long resident of Milwaukee county and currently lives in Bay View with his wife, Jessica, and son Atticus and daughter Stella.
