Alderman José G. Pérez will be a guest speaker during a special event scheduled for Sunday to raise funds to help people adversely affected by floods, earthquakes, wildfires, tornadoes and other disasters.

The “Unity – Taking Care of Our Own” concert will take place Sunday, December 9 at The Wherehouse, 818 S. Water St., from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10 to attend.

The event will include music, dance, and DJs, and County Supervisor Peggy Romo West and Harry Santiago are also scheduled to be guest speakers.

Alderman Pérez said all proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Red Cross for disaster relief. “As we know, the Red Cross has a long tradition of being there to help people pick up the pieces after a disaster strikes,” he said. “The event Sunday will benefit the Red Cross. If you are unable to attend, I ask that you please consider making a donation on your own to the American Red Cross.”
