MILWAUKEE – Stefanie Dugan, At-Large candidate for the Milwaukee Public School Board, today announced growing support for her candidacy:

“Stefanie, if elected, will push for expanding options for pathways to vocational training and the trades including the development of apprenticeships, partnering with local trades groups and skilled labor groups, as well as providing increase options programs like agriculture/urban farming and more. She believes all workers have to be able to work free of employer intimidation, harassment or coercion and supports that workers have a right to safe, healthy and fair work conditions,” the Milwaukee AFSCME PEOPLE Committee communicated to its members.

Dugan stated, “I’m proud to stand with the hard-working men and women of AFSCME, the public workers who provide the essential and valued skills and services that hold our communities together. From our schools to our local governments, we are seeing a squeeze on quality workers and many have left for the private sector or other states.  If we want to build up the next generation of working Wisconsinites, we need to support our workers, including those who interact with our kids on a day-to-day basis. I’m honored to have earned the support of AFSCME.”

Stefanie is a lifelong Milwaukee area resident and resides with her family in Milwaukee’s Brewers Hill neighborhood. She graduated from UW-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and a master’s degree in Medical Genetics. She is employed as a certified Genetic Counselor at the BloodCenter of Wisconsin/Versiti. Stefanie is married to David Dugan and is the mother of three children in MPS. The election is Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019.
