A Sad Day in Milwaukee

By - Aug 7th, 2020 08:30 am

We just saw a tragic event take place. The Fire & Police Commission (FPC) decided to demote a person who should not have been demoted. The FPC decided to listen to people who made that decision for them. The reason that he was removed from his position is a joke and the Commissioners knows that. What was said by Commissioner Robakowski in the hearing is not true. Chief Morales is a man who fought for everyone.

The FPC took down a good man and a good leader. A person who, everyday, came to work and put in all that he could for the citizens of Milwaukee. A person who is respected by the men and woman that he led. But, the FPC has failed. You have failed the citizens of Milwaukee. You have failed those who the Chief represented. You have failed Milwaukee in so many ways.

Unfortunately, the FPC board sees this as a game. The FPC board laughed and joked at an individual who has fought for the citizens of Milwaukee. But this isn’t a game. This is reality. The city of Milwaukee is struggling, but you decided to keep this game going.

Chief Morales is a person who cares for Milwaukee. Chief Morales grew up in this city. He devoted his career to this city. But you took Chief Morales from the citizens of Milwaukee. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves.

The Milwaukee Police Association has supported Chief Morales and we will continue to support Chief Morales. It’s unusual for a union, like ours, to support a police chief. But he gets our support because he supports his officers!!

The FPC is in disarray. The FPC executive director Griselda Aldrete and Steven DeVougas need to be replaced immediate. They need to be removed from their positions. I will continue to push this message. It is time for both of you to leave.

Chief Morales, please know that the men and women of the Police Department respect and support you! Your leadership for this city and this department will be missed.

Stay Safe

Dale Bormann
President
Milwaukee Police Association
