A Better Wisconsin Together Applauds President Biden’s State of the Union Address

MADISON, Wis. — In the State of the Union speech tonight, President Joe Biden spoke of the progress his administration has made in delivering on an economy that works for all of us in Wisconsin, and his unwavering commitment to continue standing up for the rights, freedoms, and prosperity of average working families.

The following are comments from A Better Wisconsin Together Executive Director Chris Walloch:

“It’s clear that President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and the administration care about the success of working families and giving us the tools we need to succeed, and the proof is in his actions on popular policies that matter to the average person.

“Under the Biden Administration’s leadership, Wisconsinites are building our economy from the bottom up and middle out, creating record numbers of new jobs, lowering costs, making sure the wealthy pay what they owe in taxes, and investing in our infrastructure by rebuilding miles of roads and bridges across the state.

“Tonight, President Biden doubled down on his commitment to continue the hard work of protecting our freedoms, whether that’s making sure it’s Wisconsinites and not politicians making decisions about abortion care, protecting all our voices at the ballot box, or ensuring everyone can thrive in our communities peacefully and safely.

“The vision unveiled tonight is a far cry from the right-wing MAGA agenda of undermining democracy, attacking our rights and freedoms, and handing out tax breaks to the wealthy while leaving working families behind.

“We applaud President Biden for delivering on what matters to average working families, and encourage Wisconsin’s Republican delegation in Washington D.C. to end their MAGA partisan antics and work with the Biden Administration and Democratic leaders to deliver for Wisconsin.”
