9to5 announces new state director
Christina Thor joins 9to5 as head of Wisconsin Chapter
Milwaukee, WI — 9to5 the Association for Working Women is happy to announce Christina Thor as the new State Director for the Wisconsin Chapter. Christina brings to our organization a demonstrated history of robust civic engagement work, leading communications and development in the non-profit sector, and strategic community organizing in electoral and grassroots campaigns, specifically in the Midwest region. We look forward to working with Christina to grow 9to5 Wisconsin.
Grounded in her upbringing in systemic poverty with war-refugee parents, Christina has a strong passion for identifying collaborative systemic solutions to lift vulnerable, marginalized, and oppressed communities out of inequity and injustice cycles.
Christina sits on the Immigration Task Force for Esther, a social-justice organization based in the Fox Valley region of Wisconsin and is a board member at the Hmong American Partnership of the Fox Valley. She is pursuing her Master in Social Work degree at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
9to5 is one of the largest, most respected national membership organizations of working women in the U.S., dedicated to putting working women’s issues on the public agenda. We’ve grown from our Boston roots into a national organization with members all over the country. We’re mostly women, many of us working two jobs or more to make ends meet for our families. 9to5 is committed to dismantling racial and gender injustices and how they directly tie into issues of economic stability and security for women of color who are disproportionately represented in the low wage workforce and most often feel the brunt of inequitable economic policies.
