1st Annual New9th Christmas Toy Drive to Brighten the Season for Hundreds of Children
Alderwoman Chantia Lewis has joined forces with the Granville and Havenwoods Business Improvement Districts to launch the 1st Annual New9th Christmas Toy Drive, expected to provide up to 1,000 gifts for children who reside in the 9th Aldermanic District on Milwaukee’s northwest side.
The toy drive is made possible by the generous support of the Granville and Havenwoods BIDs and several sponsors, Alderwoman Lewis said. “The BIDs and the generous sponsors stepped up without hesitation when I shared my idea of a way to brighten the holiday season for children and families that have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic crisis that has turned so many lives upside down,” she said.
Those looking to make donations of toys and/or funds for the drive can reach out via email to Chantia.Lewis@milwaukee.gov.
To be eligible for free gifts from the drive, recipients must be zero to 17 years of age and must reside in the 9th District in the City of Milwaukee.
