Milwaukee NARI Home & Remodeling Show

October 7, 2016 - October 9, 2016

The Milwaukee NARI Home & Remodeling Show will be held Fri., Oct. 7 – Sun., Oct. 9, 2016, at the State Fair Park Exposition Center in West Allis, Wis. The Show will provide attendees with an opportunity to meet with more than 100 Milwaukee NARI member exhibitors, displaying the latest home improvement and remodeling products and services, including design/build, kitchens, decks, cabinets, windows, wall covering, bathrooms, lighting, landscaping, roofing, painting, fireplaces, siding, and more. In addition, there will be daily educational presentations and demonstrations by home improvement specialists, including Melinda Myers, on Fri., Oct. 7 at 2:30 p.m. The Show will also feature cooking competitions and chefs preparing their favorite recipes, including former Green Bay Packer Leroy Butler on Sat., Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. Special attractions at the Show include the Interactive Smart Home Gallery, a “Create and Take” area, live music, the Milwaukee NARI Show Information area, a 50/50 cash raffle presented by the Milwaukee NARI Foundation. Inc., and much more. Hours on Fri., Oct. 7 are 12 p.m. – 8 p.m., 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 8, and on Sun., Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $8 in advance, and $10 at the door. Tickets for seniors, 60 and older, are $8, while children 17 and younger and active and retired military personnel with military identification are admitted at no charge. Korea Day 2016

UWM Korean Professors Association and Korean American Association of Milwaukee are hosting the 2016 KOREA DAY Celebration on Friday, October 7, 2016, 4:30-9:30pm at the Helen Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts. The event includes various Korean cultural events such as Taekwondo demonstration, K-Pop Dance, Traditional Korean Percussion performance, and Korean traditional painting exhibition. These performances will expose the rich Korean cultures and traditions to the UWM community and the area residents. You will also have a chance to taste Korean food. The highlight of the 2016 Korea Day celebration is the classical music concert. The UWM Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Jun Kim, will present its season opener featuring award winning violinist Clara-Jumi Kang (Gold Medalist of the 2010 Indianapolis Violin Competition & Laureate of the 2015 Tchaikovsky Violin Competition), who will be performing the dazzling Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D major.

Current Contours Opening Reception

Current Contours featuring new works by gallery artists, Tony Conrad, Dale Knaak, Rob Neilson, Melissa Dorn Richards, Stefani Quam, Sara Willadsen, and William Zuback at Arts Mills in Grafton, Wisconsin. Since the closing of the Frank Juarez Gallery in December 2015, this exhibition brings them back together and celebrates the works of these talented artists. Works on exhibit will range from sculpture to photography, drawings to installation, and projection to mixed media.
