Exhibition at MOWA: Art on Tap
Pabst. Schlitz. Miller. These brands are synonymous with Milwaukee where, until Prohibition, business was booming. Modern advertising was revolutionized during this time and brewers took advantage in order to convince a thirsty public that their brews were the best. This resulted in iconic images, elaborate signage, and unforgettable slogans that are still used today. Art on Tap | Early Wisconsin Brewery Art and Advertising is on view at MOWA July 16–September 24, 2016.

Tomato Romp Festival
Join us in celebrating the East Side Business Improvement District’s 10th Annual Tomato Romp Festival taking place on Saturday, September 10th from 10AM to 4PM on Milwaukee’s east side. A day of throwing tomatoes, live music, the East Side Green Market and Black Cat Alley live large-scale street art mural installations. All proceeds go to Hunger Task Force. Saturday Samplings: Behind-the-Scenes at RAM
Get a behind-the-scenes look at challenges and triumphs of operating an art museum through a wide spectrum of lenses and a diverse assortment of occupations and personalities. Meet RAM staff, docents, and volunteers as they lead you through a fun and relaxed conversation on multiple museum topics. Each week will be a new experience and opportunity to engage with a different face of RAM. Topics will include how the collection came to life, how exhibits are organized, what programs RAM offers (and why!), job duties, staff favorite works of art, interesting art facts, and more! Mary Fahl, formerly of October Project, to play SHANK HALL in September
Mary Fahl is an expressive, emotional singer/songwriter who first achieved fame as lead singer and co-founder of the mid-1990s NYC-based chamber-pop group OCTOBER PROJECT. The hallmark of their sound was Mary Fahl’s awe-inspiring power vocals over gorgeous melodies played with passion and sophistication.
