Jazz Coterie live music concert series presents Benny Benack III on his international tour celebrating the release of his new album “Third Time’s the Charm.”

New York trumpeter-vocalist-composer Benny Benack has been rapidly ascending the jazz ranks. By all accounts this latest release will be a breakthrough that puts him in a whole new stratosphere. It’s no accident the word “charm” appears in the title. There are few artists on the scene today with his level of charisma.

In addition to global touring as a bandleader, Benny has been a trumpeting sideman to Josh Groban, Ben Folds, Ann Hampton Callaway and more. He’s been featured at Birdland, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Mezzrow, Café Carlyle, and other leading New York venues. And he frequently performs in the house band on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

His global recognition has been further bolstered by recent live-streaming concerts at Smalls Jazz Club, where he maintains a weekly residency, as well as frequent appearances on fellow young lion Emmet Cohen’s show “Emmet’s Place.”
