MILWAUKEE, WI (August 7, 2026) – WISN 12 and The Salvation Army are partnering for the 13th ‘Class Act School Supply Drive’ to help area children begin the school year ready to learn. The 2026 ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving Class Act School Supply Drive’ will collect donations to provide essential classroom supplies to students in need throughout the community.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, WISN 12 will accept contributions through a phone bank from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Supporters can also donate now by visiting wisn.com/giving or texting “WISN” to 24365. The first $10,000 donated to the campaign will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of the community’s generosity.

“Every child deserves to walk into the classroom with the tools and confidence needed to succeed,” says Shawn Oswald, president and general manager of WISN 12. “Through the generosity of our viewers and the support of The Salvation Army, we can help local students start the school year prepared to learn, grow, and flourish.”

Contributions to the ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving Class Act School Supply Drive’ will help fill backpacks with essential items such as pens, pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks, highlighters, and other classroom necessities. These supplies will be distributed to area school children who need them most.

The ‘Class Act School Supply Drive’ is made possible through a long-standing partnership between WISN 12 and The Salvation Army. Established in 2013, the annual campaign has collected more than $675,000 in donations, an amount equivalent to approximately 37,800 backpacks filled with school supplies for disadvantaged students across Southeastern Wisconsin.

The campaign is part of the ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving’ initiative, which supports local nonprofit organizations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. The initiative promotes the power of community through the power of giving.
