Statement From Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu on Wisconsin Court of Appeals Upholding Act 10
MADISON – Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) and Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg) released the following statement regarding the Wisconsin Court of Appeals upholding Act 10:
“Today the Wisconsin Court of Appeals again confirmed what has been recognized by state and federal Courts for over a decade: That Act 10 is clearly constitutional.
“Act 10 was enacted to repair the state’s budget at a time when the state faced a projected $3.6 billion budget deficit. Since 2011, Act 10 has saved the state an estimated $35 billion, keeping Wisconsin in a financially sound position. These savings have benefitted Wisconsinites through tax cuts, fully funded schools, and increased aid to local governments, all while building a rainy-day fund of over $2 billion.”
