AmyRose Murphy Announces Campaign for State Assembly in the 14th District
West Allis, WI – Legislative aide and West Allis resident AmyRose Murphy announced her candidacy for State Assembly in the 14th district, citing the need for a representative who will prioritize the interests of the community.
“I’m running because the people of West Allis, Wauwatosa and Milwaukee deserve a representative who will stand up for our communities and focus on solving the issues we face every day,” Murphy said.
“As State Representative, I will focus on bringing costs down for Milwaukee County families, ensuring our children have access to the best possible education opportunities, and giving our local law enforcement agencies the resources they need to keep our streets safe. Our current Representative has had every opportunity to address these issues over the past two years, but was too busy with radical pet projects and partisan agenda items. It’s time for a change.”
In addition to her work in the legislature, Murphy has experience as an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, business owner, and education advocate, which she believes will make her an effective legislator.
“With my background in both the public and private sectors, I understand the struggles that local families and small businesses face, and I also know how to get things done in Madison,”
Murphy said. “I will be ready to hit the ground running for our district on day one.”
Murphy is running unopposed in the August Republican Primary, and will face incumbent State Representative Angelito Tenorio (D – West Allis) in the general election on November 3rd. The 14th Assembly District includes most of the City of West Allis, far southern portions of the City of Wauwatosa, and western portions of the City of Milwaukee.
