MILWAUKEE, WI – WISN 12 will raise funds for ‘Special Spaces Wisconsin,’ as part of the ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving’ initiative. ‘Special Spaces Wisconsin’ is a not-for-profit organization that provides dream bedrooms for children with cancer. On Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, donations will be collected through a phone bank from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and online at wisn.com/giving. WISN 12 is accepting online donations now and early contributions are encouraged.

“Your donation means that children with cancer will have a safe haven as they deal with treatments, exhaustion, isolation, and other challenges,” says Shawn Oswald, president and general manager of WISN 12. “We’re trying to provide some comfort and security during very difficult times.”

This fundraising drive helps offer area kids a restful and relaxing environment to recover, play, sleep, and enjoy. Through the charitable campaign, Wisconsin children with cancer will receive a dream bedroom makeover involving improvements such as new rugs, light fixtures, furniture, bedding, murals, and more. In addition to community donations, local companies Steinhafels, Inc. & Pella Windows and Doors, are offering a matching pool of funds up to $50,000, helping to double your impact.

“We know our community will join us in making a lasting impact on area kids and their families,” shares Oswald. “It’s an honor to work with ‘Special Spaces Wisconsin’ to help children with cancer.”

This collaboration with ‘Special Spaces Wisconsin’ is the latest fundraising effort in the ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving’ initiative. The ongoing campaign features a different non-profit each month to help advance its mission, pursue its goals, and most importantly, improve people’s lives. This initiative aims to promote the power of community through the power of giving.
