$7 Admission for Guests Ages 60+ on Monday, August 10, 2026

Senior Story Campaign to Celebrate 175 Years of Fair Memories

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – The Wisconsin State Fair is proud to announce the return of Senior Day, offering a special $7 admission ticket for guests ages 60 and older on Monday, August 10, 2026. This outstanding value is made possible through the generous support of Capri Communities.

In addition to discounted admission, this year’s celebration will carry special significance as the Fair marks its 175th anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the Wisconsin State Fair Park Foundation is partnering with Capri Communities to launch a statewide search for senior stories that capture Fair memories throughout the years. The historic search is kicking off with an agriculture-focused event at the Gables of Germantown, N109W17075 Ava Circle, where Wisconsin State Fair staff will bring the spirit of the Fair to senior residents. Starting at 10:30 a.m., residents will be invited to take part in Fair-themed activities like churning butter or interacting with small animals in addition to sharing their beloved State Fair stories.

“Senior Day is a meaningful way to honor the generations who have made the Fair what it is today,” said Anna Zeck, Wisconsin State Fair Park Foundation executive director. “As we celebrate 175 years, we’re excited to elevate those voices and share the stories that have shaped the cherished Wisconsin State Fair experience.”

Golden Memories Contest

Seniors are invited to submit a short video or written story sharing their personal connections to the Fair, whether favorite childhood visits, traditions carried on with children and grandchildren, or special moments that made the Fair part of their lives. These stories will help celebrate the lasting impact of the Wisconsin State Fair.

Videos and written submissions can be uploaded directly to www.goldenmemorieswi.com by Wednesday, June 10, or recorded in person at Capri Communities’ Enjoy Life Active Aging Symposium. This free and fun one-day, annual event is designed for older adults 55+ looking to celebrate aging, get involved, try new things and live life to the fullest. The Enjoy Life Symposium will be held at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield on June 10 from 8:30am – 3:00pm. Visit www.enjoylifesymposium.com for more information.

Five standout submissions will be selected and professionally recorded, then shared publicly for public voting on the website. The story that resonates most with the community will earn its featured storyteller a personalized picnic table in Central Park that will stand for generations, as well as a VIP Wisconsin State Fair experience for themselves and their family.

“The Golden Memories contest is a perfect way to pay tribute to the Wisconsin State Fair’s 175 years of history. It is especially meaningful to spotlight seniors as their stories and experiences are the heart of Wisconsin’s heritage – and celebrating them ensures those memories will continue to inspire generations,” said Kim Irwin, VP Marketing, Capri Communities.

Senior Day presented by Capri Communities

Guests can purchase Senior Day tickets for $7 at admission entrances on Monday, August 10. No advance purchase is necessary or available, and a valid ID may be required to verify age eligibility.

Capri Communities will bring the Enjoy Life philosophy to the Central Park area of the Fair on Senior Day – including special musical performances, interactive activities, raffles, prizes and games. Fairgoers are encouraged to visit Central Park between 10am – 4pm to see and experience all that Capri has planned for older adults on Senior Day!

“As we celebrate the Fair’s 175th anniversary, this special day will be a meaningful time for seniors to gather with family and friends, reflect on cherished memories, and create new ones together,” said Shari Black, Wisconsin State Fair Park CEO. “We couldn’t be more grateful for the continued support of our program sponsor, Capri Communities, whose partnership helps make this celebration possible.”
