Rappis reaches 100 career points in loss at Georgetown
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Marquette University men’s lacrosse team (6-5, 2-1 BIG EAST) fell to No. 12/13 Georgetown (6-4, 3-0 BIG EAST), 17–7, on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field in a battle for first place in the BIG EAST.
Marquette was unable to recover from an early deficit as Georgetown used a seven-goal first quarter to seize control and never looked back.
The Golden Eagles showed flashes offensively throughout the contest, including a three-goal opening frame and multi-point efforts from several key contributors. Nolan Rappis led the way with four points on two goals and two assists, while Carsen Brandt added three assists to pace the Marquette attack.
Despite a more balanced performance over the final three quarters, Marquette could not overcome the early surge from Georgetown, which led 10–4 at halftime and extended its advantage throughout the second half.
