AFP-Wisconsin Slams Gov. Evers, Utilities for Another Round of Proposed Devastating Rate Hikes
Madison, WI — Americans for Prosperity–Wisconsin (AFP-WI) slammed Wisconsin’s utilities for proposing yet another round of devastating rate hikes on Wisconsin taxpayers. While affordability is top-of-mind for Wisconsinites statewide, Gov. Evers and his administration have prioritized senseless and unreliable renewable energy goals that are financially unsustainable, allowing the utility companies to get away with raising costs on ratepayers year after year.
AFP-Wisconsin State Director Megan Novak released the following statement:
“Every day, we hear from Wisconsinites who are concerned about the continual increases to their utility bills. This latest request is a slap in the face to all of us after the over $2 billion in rate hikes already approved by Governor Evers’ PSC. Wisconsin already has some of the highest utility rates in the Midwest, and without serious reforms, Wisconsin families and businesses will continue to be burdened by their monthly utility bills.”
