How to make steamroller art at Redline MKE

If you happened upon a certain block of N. 4th Street just north of downtown Milwaukee, you would find it blocked off and a steamroller in the road.  However, it wasn’t paving down potholes.  Instead, the staff at Redline MKE (with some help from Flux Designs) hosted a steamrolling print event that allowed local and regional artists to create large scale woodcut plates that are then inked by road machine.

The event is going on even as we bring you this video, and there will be Danceworks musicians and dancers performing in the street and inside for the reception starting at 5 p.m.  A silent auction of these remarkable prints follows.  For details, visit Redline Milwaukee.
