Devouring books in the non-metaphorical context

The masterworks at Sunday’s Woodland Pattern event were filled with rich tapestries and flavorful descriptions. It was the 4th Annual Edible Books Show, in which contestants were invited to create literary riffs and verbose creations made entirely from organic materials. The following gallery pictures were taken at the beginning of the four-hour event and before it was done — the entries were consumed.

Woodland Pattern hosted a workshop for the event one week ago at Central Library, helping out foodies and wordsmiths marry their love for yesterday’s contest. Melissa Czarnik sent us the results (which are posted below the gallery); top honors overall from attendee votes went to “Mexicali Medusa” by Jessica Poor — a nacho-themed demon to behold.
