WISN 12 Supports Versiti Blood Center Through ‘Day of Giving’ Initiative
MILWAUKEE, WI (February 4, 2026) – WISN 12 is hosting a blood drive and organizing a phone bank on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, to support the Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin and its local site Versiti on King, a new blood donation and community resource center. Online donations are being accepted right now. The charitable effort is part of the station’s ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving’ initiative, which assists local non-profit organizations across our area.
“Reports tell us that every two seconds, someone in our community needs blood,” says Shawn Oswald, president and general manager of WISN 12. “By taking a little bit of time out of your day to donate blood or provide financial assistance, you’re literally saving lives.”
WISN 12 is sponsoring the blood drive from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on February 11, 2026, at Versiti on King, located at 2153 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Suite 1600, Milwaukee, WI 53212. While walk-in visits are accepted for blood typing and blood donations, those specifically looking to make blood donations are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance. For those unable to visit the Versiti on King site, blood donations can be made at any Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin location.
In addition, WISN 12 will be hosting a phone bank on February 11, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for Versiti on King. People can also make donations online to help the organization with supporting donors, providing staffing care, and filling hospital shelves. Through the generosity of WaterStone Bank, donations will be matched up to $5,000.
“WISN 12 is so proud to partner with Versiti on the blood drive and fundraiser,” adds Oswald. “We’re committed to building up our community through the power of giving.”
The blood drive and phone bank with Versiti on King is part of the ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving’ initiative, which supports local non-profit organizations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. In the ongoing campaign, the station features different non-profit organizations throughout the year to help advance their missions, pursue their goals, and most importantly, improve people’s lives. This initiative aims to promote the power of community through the power of giving.
