Kegel’s Inn Brings “Endless Summer” to Winter with Lent in the Tent

Heated beer-garden tent runs February 13 through May 16

West Allis, WI — For nearly a century, Kegel’s Inn has been serving Milwaukee authentic German comfort food, award-winning fish fries, and a sense of place that locals recognize instantly. This winter and spring, that living tradition expands outdoors, without sacrificing warmth.

From February 13 through May 16, Kegel’s Inn presents Lent in the Tent, a fully heated, beer-garden-style tent set alongside the historic restaurant. Maintained at a comfortable 70 degrees, the tent creates an Endless Summer atmosphere while adding seating for up to 250 additional guests.

Designed as an extension of Kegel’s beloved summer beer garden, the space features communal tables, warm lighting, live music, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe — warm enough for the entire family.

Endless Summer Energy (Wearing a Hawaiian Shirts = Discounts!)

Guests are encouraged to lean into the Endless Summer spirit by wearing Hawaiian shirts throughout the season. The colorful dress code adds to the playful, midwinter escape — a reminder that summer doesn’t have to wait because It’s summer already at Kegel’s Inn! 🌺🍻

Fish Fry Traditions & Scratch-Made German Fare

Lent in the Tent brings Kegel’s most celebrated offerings into a bright, social setting:

  • Friday Fish Fry & Drive-Thru | 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday Fish Fry | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturdays Scratch-made German fare Kegel’s Inn is known for
  • Live Music Fridays & Saturday Nights | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The tent blends the comfort of one of Milwaukee’s most recognized fish fries with the easygoing energy of a summer festival — even if snow is still on the ground outside.

Lent in the Tent is designed to be for everybody. The expanded space accommodates families, friends, coworkers, and large parties, with party tables available for groups up to 16 guests.
