WisDems Statement on Anniversary of Original Roe V. Wade Decision
MADISON, Wis. — On the anniversary of the original Roe v. Wade decision, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Vice-Chair Sarah Godlewski released the following statement:
“On the anniversary of Roe v Wade, we mourn the personal loss of freedom that Republicans in Wisconsin and Washington took away from us. Abortion is once again on the ballot in Wisconsin in 2026. Control of the legislature and the Governor’s office is on the line this November. And we know that a GOP led legislature, and a Governor Tom Tiffany would institute a dangerous abortion ban that lets politicians make medical decisions that should be decided by a woman and her doctor. And we know Judge Maria Lazar would be a rubber stamp for these horrible policies.
“We are fighting for a state and a country that respects our constitution, our individual rights and freedoms. This is a fight for our future and it is a fight we must win.”
