Supervisor Martin Commends Cutting EDGE Training and Trades Event, Encourages Student Participation
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Supervisor Felesia A. Martin is commending the upcoming Cutting EDGE Training and Trades event and encouraging students, families, and educators to participate in the three-day career exploration experience focused on skilled trades and workforce readiness.
Cutting EDGE Training and Trades is designed to introduce middle and high school students to high demand careers through hands on learning, real world financial planning, and interactive simulations. Students will explore careers such as welding, CNC, phlebotomy, carpentry, plumbing, roofing, and certified nursing assistance while gaining practical insight into budgeting, housing, transportation, and employment options.
“Events like Cutting EDGE open doors for our young people by showing them the many pathways available beyond traditional classrooms,” said Supervisor Martin. “This experience helps students connect their interests to real careers while building confidence and practical life skills.”
The three-day event includes Orientation Day for 8th and 9th graders and University Days for students in grades 8 through 12, offering age-appropriate programming led by industry professionals and educators.
Supervisor Martin encourages families and schools to take advantage of this opportunity to help students prepare for their futures and strengthen Milwaukee’s workforce.
