OCONOMOWOC, WI — Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after President Trump addressed the nation regarding the capture and federal indictment of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro:

“Today, the United States captured and indicted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, a narco-terrorist whose actions have killed Americans and threatened our national security.

“Maduro did not simply illegitimately rule Venezuela. He led a regime that orchestrated drug trafficking, protected the cartels, and encouraged the flow of illegal drugs and violence into the United States.

“President Trump’s decisive action sends a clear message to the world. The United States will defend itself against foreign regimes that profit from drug trafficking and the actions of dangerous cartels targeting our nation. No individual, no matter how powerful, is above the law when Americans have been harmed by narco-terrorism.

“As President Trump confirmed, through this operation, the U.S. government removed Maduro from power. His indictment and transfer to federal court in New York is a crucial step toward justice.

“I commend President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the U.S. military and law enforcement officials who carried out this operation with strength and resolve. Protecting American lives comes first, and today’s action makes that unmistakably clear.”

    Hypocrite definition,

“a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that they do not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs”.

The definition applies to almost every Republican member of Congress. The King of All Hypocrites, DJT, a month ago pardoned a convicted cocaine trafficer Juan Hernandez. But the Maduro kidnapping is all about fighting “narco terrorism”?

    (from 12-2-25 BBC news story)…

“Juan Orlando Hernández, the former president of Honduras, has walked free after President Donald Trump pardoned him – a man once characterised as the key figure in a drug trafficking scheme that flooded America with over 400 tonnes of cocaine.

Trump has said that Hernández, who was sentenced to 45 years in prison by a US court, is a victim of political persecution and has been “treated very harshly and unfairly”

  2. tmaloney6 says:

Fitzgerald is a weak rep and Trump sycophant. Hernandez’s drug trafficking killed more Americans than Maduro’s. Hernandez was pardoned by Trump while Maduro was captured and indicted. The difference is Maduro is sitting on huge oil reserves while Hernandez in Honduras was an importer of oil. Trump wants the OIL. Watch for the eventual involvement of Jared Kushner in this upcoming extortion of Venezuelan oil. Kushner is always involved when Trump wants a personal cut of the shakedown.
