MILWAUKEE, WI- Milwaukee Academy of Science (MAS) is proud to announce the completion of its brand-new gym floor made possible through a generous $125,000 donation from the Pat Connaughton Foundation (PCF). To celebrate the completion of this project, MAS will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at its Main Campus, 2000 W. Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.

This new #ConnaughtonCourt represents a significant investment in student wellness, athletic opportunity, and community connection. The upgraded court will serve as a hub for physical education, athletic training, and school-wide gatherings, while also providing a safe, high-quality facility for community events and youth programming.

“Partnering with the Pat Connaughton Foundation to bring this project to life has been an incredible gift for our students and community,” said Anthony McHenry, CEO of Milwaukee Academy of Science. “This court is more than a surface to play on—it’s a space where teamwork, confidence, and character will be built every single day. It represents opportunity, equity, and the spirit of what makes MAS such a special place.”

The renovation was inspired by a shared commitment between MAS and the Pat Connaughton Foundation to expand access to athletics and leadership opportunities for youth in Milwaukee. “This project perfectly aligns with our mission to create access to athletics and help young people develop skills that extend far beyond the court,” said Pat Connaughton, Founder of the Pat Connaughton Foundation. “MAS is doing extraordinary work to uplift and empower students, and we’re proud to partner with them in continuing that legacy.”

The new court will support over 5,000 individuals annually, increasing student participation in athletics and after-school programming, and positioning Milwaukee Academy of Science as a model for academic and athletic excellence in the city.
