Rep. Fitzgerald & Wisconsin House Republicans Urge Governor Evers to Submit Wisconsin’s Application for the Rural Health Transformation Program

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after leading a letter with Wisconsin’s House Republican delegation to Governor Tony Evers, urging him to submit Wisconsin’s application for the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The deadline for states to apply for funding is November 5, 2025.

Created under the Working Families Tax Cuts signed into law by President Donald Trump earlier this year, the RHT Program provides a $50 billion investment to strengthen rural healthcare by improving patient outcomes, expanding access to healthcare, and supporting providers and caregivers.

“Rural communities in Wisconsin have fewer healthcare facilities and patients have longer travel times to see a doctor,” said Congressman Fitzgerald. “The Rural Health Transformation Program is a historic opportunity to reverse this trend and deliver real solutions for patients and small-town hospitals across our state. I was proud to vote for the Tax Cuts for Working Families legislation that made this possible. Governor Evers must act quickly and take advantage of this historic opportunity for Wisconsin.”

The letter was co-signed by Reps. Tom Tiffany (WI-07), Glenn Grothman (WI-06), Bryan Steil (WI-01), Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) and Tony Wied (WI-08).

So 3 weeks ago the Senate Republicans took a party line vote to change Senate rules and end the need for 60 votes so they could confirm Presidential nominees in a group rather than individually and do this by a simple majority. (I’m pretty sure they voted for this on 9-11-2025). They can change the rules right now and stop the government shutdown. Republicans are choosing to do this shutdown and Fitzgerald is choosing to lie about it like your typical lying liars Republican POS politician. And corporate media is participating in the lie like they usually do.
House Speaker, and all around weirdo Mike Johnson is also choosing to not swear in newly elected House Rep from AZ Adelita Grijalva. All this to avoid the passing of the discharge petition to enable a vote in the House to release the Epstein files. (A vote that Weirdo Johnson refuses to hold).
Today’s Republican Party are just a bunch of greedy liars.
