Congresswoman Gwen Moore Statement on Flotilla

“I share concerns for the American citizens and others who have been detained for simply trying to deliver food and other humanitarian aid to our fellow human beings in Gaza.

I understand their frustration with a war that will not end and the suffering it has created in Gaza and Israel. I call on the Trump Administration to ensure that all detained individuals are properly treated, swiftly released, and can return home to their families.

Providing humanitarian aid isn’t a crime. It’s time for the fighting to end and I hope that the framework, which calls for an end to the fighting, return of the hostages, an increase in humanitarian aid, and a pathway to rebuild Gaza for Gazans, that has been welcomed by a number of stakeholders, will be taken seriously and implemented.”
