MSOC Battles Back to Take 3-2 Victory Over Milwaukee Tuesday Night
Golden Eagles host Seton Hall Saturday at 7 p.m. CT
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men’s soccer team scored two goals in the final ten minutes to win 3-2 over Milwaukee in the 51st Milwaukee Cup on Tuesday night.
The Golden Eagles (4-1-3, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) netted three goals in the second half, started by Grant Locker in the 50th minute. It was the second-straight year Locker scored in the Milwaukee Cup.
Marquette’s Mads Konrad Horgøien scored his second goal of the season off a volley in the 81st minute that was assisted by Antonio Costabile and Kyle Bebej.
Two minutes later Tristan Rønnestad-Stevens gave MU the lead off a rebound for his first goal of his career.
Milwaukee (2-3-4, 1-0-1 Horizon) had goals from Ryan Berghauer and Jack Wagner.
NOTABLES:
- Marquette retains the Milwaukee Cup for the fourth year in a row.
- The Golden Eagles won 5-2 at Milwaukee during the 2022 season and tied the previous two meetings.
- Gabriel Miranda and Mads Konrad Horgøien earned their first career starts.
- Milwaukee transfer Gabe Angul earned his first start of the season and 15th of his career.
