Discovery World workers have our support

We are fully supportive of the Discovery World workers in their effort to form a union with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, or IAM Union.

The workers at Discovery World lend their creativity and passion to almost every facet of the interactive science museum’s exhibits, special events, and education and outreach programs. Without their labor and dedication on a daily basis, Discovery World just wouldn’t be the busy and vital operation (and destination) that it is.

We support the Discovery World workers as they strive for:

• Better wages and benefits that more adequately reflect their contributions.
• More opportunities for career advancement and full-time status, along with a fair and transparent process for promotions and hiring.
• The respect they deserve as museum workers, individuals, and members of the Milwaukee community.

We believe all workers deserve fair treatment and good working conditions. The workers at Discovery World are looking to have a voice in their workplace about the issues that directly impact their lives.

At Discovery World, collective bargaining will empower workers to raise concerns about decisions by management without fear of retaliation.

This effort by the workers at Discovery World is not unreasonable, and we are supportive of their efforts to organize to seek better conditions.
