Record-Breaking Summerfest for Lime with a 73% Surge in Ridership

Milwaukee, WI (July 17 2025) — Following three successful weekends, Lime, the world’s largest shared electric vehicle company, proudly announces a record-breaking Summerfest 2025. With all festival weekends now complete, Lime facilitated over 86,000 trips in Milwaukee during the nine-day festival, a significant increase from 50,299 trips in 2024. This represents a 73% surge in ridership for the festival over 2024.

Lime’s comprehensive planning and partnership with Summerfest were instrumental in this success. Efforts included dedicated parking corrals, special discount codes, and enhanced operational strategies, all aimed at providing quick, affordable, and sustainable transportation to and from the festival grounds.

• Weekend three ridership was higher than the previous two with over 30,000 trips
• There were more than 86,000 trips over the 9-day festival
• 73% increase in trips compared to Summerfest 2024 which saw around 50,000 trips

Key Initiatives for Summerfest 2025 Success:

• Lime-sponsored parking corrals near the North and Mid gates facilitated organized parking and pick-up/drop-off.
• Comprehensive zoning for safe riding, including a no-ride zone on festival grounds and mandatory parking zones around corrals.
• Constant, data-driven fleet rebalancing ensured vehicles were available where and when needed, promoting tidiness and meeting high demand.
• Onsite foot patrol and employees provided real-time support and assistance to riders and pedestrians.
• Special promotion with code Summerfest2025 offered two free unlocks, encouraging wider adoption.

Ridership in Milwaukee Continues to Soar

The success of Summerfest 2025 further solidifies Lime’s strong presence and growing impact in Milwaukee. Ridership in the city has been exceptionally strong throughout 2025, with 352,000 trips year-to-date. In May 2025 alone, Lime recorded over 105,000 trips, a 150% increase compared to 42,000 trips in May 2024.

Since launching service in 2019, over 400,000 riders have collectively taken more than 2.2 million trips on Lime vehicles in Milwaukee, covering over 3 million miles. Lime remains committed to growing alongside the city and continuing to improve service for all residents and visitors.
